Bingo players had a narrow escape in bingo club.
A few weeks ago the bingo players of a local bingo hall in Galashiels were in for a real shock when a ceiling fell down on them while they were playing.
According to BBC news three fire engines, three ambulances and two police vans were called to the hall that evening. Fortunately nobody was injured and all of them were evacuated from the building. The cinema next door was also evacuated as a safety measure; the cinema-goers were given refunds as they left the building.
Crews from Lothian and Borders Fire and Rescue Service sealed off the bingo club’s front entrance and remained at the scene waiting for inspectors from Scottish Borders Council’s building control team to investigate the incident.
A Police said: “The information we have is that a large part of false ceiling has come down in the bingo club. No persons were injured and the matter will be investigated by building control.”
Also a spokesman for the Scottish Ambulance Service talk about this incident: “We attended at the scene because of concerns raised but no persons were required to be taken to hospital.”

Even though everyone is fine we hope there will be more inspections in the bingo halls soon in order to avoid that kind of incidents from happening again.
